Legacy, Community, and Comfort: The Story Behind Country House Restaurant’s Growth

Country House Restaurant

Looking for a breakfast or lunch spot that feels like home, whether you’re a local or just visiting?

For nearly three decades, Country House Restaurant has been a beloved go-to spot in East Naples, and recently, it expanded its reach to Golden Gate. The new location opened its doors in May, bringing the same comforting meals and welcoming atmosphere that made the original restaurant a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

The Golden Gate expansion, located at 11985 Collier Blvd, represented a significant milestone for the Lugo family and their long-standing restaurant legacy. The space, once home to R’s Diner and several Asian restaurants, has now been transformed into a warm, inviting spot for breakfast and lunch enthusiasts.

A Family’s Legacy Continues

This expansion holds special meaning for the Lugo family. After the passing of their patriarch, Jose Lugo Sr., his children—Jose Ricardo Lugo Jr., Sandra, and Valeria—took the reins and carried forward the family’s vision. Though they missed their father during this transition, they were determined to honor his memory and ensure the restaurant’s legacy thrived.

Jose Ricardo Lugo Jr., who grew up in the restaurant business, shared that Golden Gate residents had been requesting a homestyle restaurant for over a decade. "They’ve been asking for one for years, and we’re excited to finally be able to bring it to them," he said.

Familiar Comforts Served Daily

If you’ve ever enjoyed a meal at the original Country House on Davis Boulevard, you’ll feel right at home in the new Golden Gate location. The menu offers the same comforting breakfast and lunch favorites that have made Country House a local institution. From omelets and French toast to burgers, sandwiches, and salads, everything is made fresh and served with a side of hospitality.

The Lugo family has been dedicated to maintaining consistency across both locations, ensuring that the Golden Gate spot offers the same scratch-made meals and warm, familiar flavors customers have come to know and love.

Looking Toward the Future

While the Golden Gate location is an exciting step, the Lugo family has bigger plans for the future. With dreams of building a small chain of Country House Restaurants, this new location serves as the first step toward that vision. "We’ve always talked about expanding, and now we’re making it happen," said Lugo. "The original location had reached full capacity, and we’re already looking at more opportunities."

The expansion marks an exciting time not just for the restaurant, but for the community as well. The Golden Gate location is now providing the same comforting meals to a wider audience, and the Lugo family is hopeful that more people will have the chance to experience the warmth and delicious food Country House has been serving for years.

If you're in the Golden Gate or East Naples area and craving a hearty meal, Country House Restaurant is the place to be. The Golden Gate location is open daily from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering all the classic breakfast and lunch dishes that locals have cherished for years.
